About

I’m an automotive designer and illustrator and a graduate of Art Center College of Design in Pasadena California. In my early career I worked at Western Golf Car Manufacturing in Desert Hot Springs California. The job lasted for twenty years and I was responsible for designing and engineering the entire product line. My work there included; concept sketching, drafting, full size working drawings and producing the final illustrations used in advertising. I’ve had experience in custom body development with the use of foam and clay and as a result I’m capable of building what I draw. My custom concept drawings have appeared regularly in magazines since 1989 in such titles as; Rod & Custom, Street Rod Builder, Scale Auto, Chevy Truck, Model Cars, Consumer Guide and Collectible Automobile. Traditional Rod and Kulture Illustrated magazine recently featured excerpts from my long illustration and design career in an article series dedicated to spotlight artists who have had an impact on the custom car scene. I have been producing illustrations for model car companies such as AMT, MPC and Trumpeter since 2008. I feel privileged to see my work on the model kit boxes to promote and sell their products.

My latest endeavor is the Hot Rod Bunny series of books. The first story, “A heart of gold and a foot of lead”, tells the story of who she is and where she came from. The majority of the plot takes place in 1964. These books started out as stories for my kids but any old school hot rodder would enjoy them as well. Even though they are technically accurate the non-automotive reader will appreciate the car chase action, the humorous situations and of course, the lighthearted romance. I’ve had a life-long appreciation of not only stock Detroit cars but also the hot rod and custom car scene. I’ve been a car nut forever and I hope it shows in my work.
